Case Study: Design-Build Lift Station Garners Award
Source: Smith & Loveless, Inc.
Hazelwood West High School’s on-campus lift station serves approximately 2,400 students and 300 faculty and staff. Installed when the suburban St. Louis high school was constructed in 1969, the original pumping system comprised an underground, dry-pit Smith & Loveless pump station connected to a buried wet well. In late spring 2009, after nearly 40 years of faithful service, school officials determined that a new station was required.
