CeraMem® Technology Highlighted At CERAWeek
Veolia’s CeraMem® Ceramic Membrane Technology was selected as an “Energy Innovation Pioneer” at the 34th Annual CERAWeek energy Conference due to successful installations in the oil & gas industry. IHS CERAWeek is the premier annual international gathering of energy industry leaders, experts, government officials and policymakers, leaders from the technology, financial, and industrial communities – and energy technology innovators.
In an interview with Bruce Bishop, Vice President at Veolia Boston, the application of the technology in the oil & gas industry was discussed and its benefits to the industry. Bruce provided an overview of the evolution of CeraMem® technology and its history in the oil & gas industry.
Specifically, one of Veolia’s installation in California was discussed and described produced water treatment in upstream, enhanced oil recovery. In this DBOM project, the CeraMem® system is critical to the overall process to provide softening, oil removal, and removal of solids in the same step. Overall, the system provides reuse as boiler feed water for oil recovery with a large portion of the treated water discharged nearby streams as irrigation for local agriculture.
