AwwaRF Board Votes To Change Name To The Water Research Foundation
Atlanta, GA – The Awwa Research Foundation (AwwaRF) Board of Trustees voted unanimously to change its name to the Water Research Foundation at a meeting on June 7, during ACE '08, the Conference and Exhibition of the American Water Works Association.
"After several months of deliberation, the Board approved the name change to enhance our ability to procure the funding necessary to better serve our subscribers," said David Rager, Chair of the Board of Trustees.
"Not only will the new name help clearly differentiate the Foundation, it will support the organization's goal of serving the entire water community by maintaining independent research on critical drinking water issues," said Rager. The organization plans to formally introduce the Water Research Foundation name in 2009.
"We value our relationship with groups such as the American Water Works Association, the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies, and the National Association of Water Companies, and we will continue collaboration with these organizations on research and the publication of research findings to benefit both our subscribers and their customers," said Rob Renner, AwwaRF's executive director.
