Australia's South East Water Switches To Innovyze To Support Enterprise-Wide Geospatial Hydraulic Modeling
Comprehensive Evaluation Confirms Superiority of Innovyze Water Modeling Technology
Innovyze, a leading global innovator of business analytics software and technologies for wet infrastructure, today announced that South East Water Limited (SEWL), Australia, has awarded Innovyze a substantial contract for its premier InfoWorks WS water modeling software to replace the utility's existing modeling solution. The program, chosen following a competitive review, will support SEWL's commitment to renew ageing infrastructure, cater to the needs of a growing population, and continue to provide the best possible services to its customers. The selection further substantiates Innovyze's leadership position in wet infrastructure modeling in the Australasian market.
South East Water is one of Melbourne's three state-owned metropolitan water retailers. It provides drinking water and sewerage to over 1.3 million people (about 600,000 customers) in a 3,640 square kilometer area ranging from the South East of Melbourne to South Gippsland. It manages 8,740 kilometers of water mains, 8,274 kilometers of sewer mains, 79 water pump stations, 238 sewage pump stations, and $1.6 billion in infrastructure and assets. South East Water is currently using Innovyze InfoWorks CS for its wastewater modeling needs.
Andrew Chapman, Water Systems Manager for South East Water, commented, "The Innovyze InfoWorks WS software was the best fit for our needs. It provides an advanced hydraulic modeling tool, with robust scenario and data management, that we need to better manage and plan our water infrastructure. The Innovyze reputation for innovation and customer support also had an impact on our decision."
Around the world, high quality all-mains InfoWorks WS models enable utilities to make informed planning, design and management decisions with confidence by giving them an accurate view of their drinking water distribution systems' performance. This information — including water quality, supply, demand and infrastructure problems and investigations of remedial measures — allows them to provide a sustainable supply of high quality water at an acceptable pressure and flow rate to commercial, industrial and domestic users while minimizing loss through leakage. As part of the Innovyze advanced workgroup modeling management platform, InfoWorks WS is built to handle very large and complex models and allow robust multi-user collaboration.
"We're very proud to know that our software applications are in place at many of the world's best-run utility companies of every size, helping them meet their corporate and strategic goals and achieve world-class performance at breakthrough savings," said Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D., Hon.D.WRE, F.ASCE, President and COO of Innovyze. "Time and again, Innovyze comprehensive modeling solutions are outperforming all their competitors in in-depth customer evaluations—proving that what we say about our best-in-class technology is consistent with its performance. Because our products are powerful solutions that solve many of the analysis, design and business challenges facing the utility industry, they sell themselves. Backed by our unparalleled customer support, they also deliver dramatic value. We are delighted that SEWL has expanded its relationship with Innovyze in its continuous quest to meet the growing high-quality drinking water needs of its residents and remain on the cutting edge of the water industry."
